My first book is one written during the lead up to the Scottish Independence Referendum. I really wanted to call it "Thatcher, ya bitch, this YES is for you!" but thought Amazon wouldn't allow "ya bitch" in the title, so dropped that. Wish I'd kept it in now :(
It's set in a fictional town called Poorton, near Glasgow, and is in the miserablist tradition of depicting Scottish life as poor scroungers with no escape from the system - until independence activists appear on their streets, suddenly offering them hope and a way out...

Other Writings
I also provide science articles to the S.L.A.T.E. charity for their use in Russian students' translation competitions. The students select from a choice of articles from a variety of authors on a variety of topics and then translate these articles from English into Russian, with prizes for the best.
